Get Active at the Playing for All Sessions at Leederville

Are you looking for a fun and inclusive program for children and adults with intellectual disability or autism? Look no further than Playing for All! This game-based program organized by Special Olympics Australia for children aged 8-17 years old and adults aged 18+ is designed to help them get active, make friends, and learn important life skills.

Playing for All - Youth and Playing for All - Adult sessions will be held at the Loftus Recreation Centre in Leederville starting this coming 15th February 2023. Each session runs for up to 90 minutes and takes place over a ten-week term, with a break before the next term starts. The program is suitable for those who want to try sports and new activities, build skills and confidence, or simply have fun with others.

Sessions are conducted in a safe and supportive environment by qualified coaches who provide activities that promote movement, teamwork, decision making, and communication. Participants will not only have a great time but will also learn the importance of staying fit and healthy.

During each session, participants will engage in small-sided games, modified games with inclusive rules and equipment, and health education and social activities. The ultimate goal of the program is to encourage participants to enjoy being active and to maintain an active lifestyle for life. The program also helps individuals achieve NDIS goals such as social and community participation, health and wellbeing, and personal development.

Registration is priced at $200 AUD. To register for Playing for All - Youth, click here, and for Playing for All - Adult, click here. Keep updated with the event through Special Olympics Australia’s official website here
