Applecross Foreshore

Applecross Foreshore is an excellent area for walking, hiking, or running. The route is about 6 km long out-and-back and takes an average of an hour and a half to complete. The area is perfect for various activities as there are several hiking trails, but it’s also great for a relaxing time by the beach or river. 

You can start your route from Alfred Cove and take the 4 km distance to Applecross Jetty for breathtaking views of the Perth skyline, then head up to Heathcote Reserve for a nice 8-11 km run out-and-back. Or, if you're feeling more daring, Applecross Foreshore also offers a wide range of additional activities such as kayaking and kitesurfing on Swan River.

From Fremantle Traffic Bridge to Canning Bridge, the Melville Water Riverpark Trail is a 16 km urban trail that follows the Swan River, passing through some of Perth's most distinctive southern shoreline reserves and parks. The trail can be enjoyed any time of the year and is perfect for walking, running, and biking with various recreational facilities available along the trail.
