Andrew has had an extremely successful year, winning gold at both the Australia and Oceania Championships.
We recently spent some time with Andrew working on his lower body mobility.
In dance roller skating, Andrew is judged by his symmetry and posture while he skates.
Some of the manoeuvres are quite difficult and require a large range of movement. By improving his flexibility, Andrew can perform with better fluidity, which ultimately affects his score. This is why it is vitally important for him to have good mobility.
Improving Mobility with Foam Rolling
Foam rolling is just one of MANY techniques we use to help with mobility and flexibility.
Other techniques include triggerpoint balls, static stretch, dynamic stretching, etc. which we will discuss on later posts.
