Get Kids Active with the Melville Cricket Club Holiday Camp at Alfred Cove

It’s finally cricket season which means it’s the perfect time to encourage kids with a penchant for cricket to explore the sport and gain new skills. This coming 5th to 7th October, the Melville Cricket Club is hosting the Future Stormers Cricket Holiday Camp, giving participants the chance to learn and get excellent coaching from Melville Cricket Club’s coaches, the WBBL Perth Scorchers, and WA Cricket players.

The Future Stormers Cricket Holiday Camp will be led by Mathilda Carmichael of Perth Scorchers and MCC superstar for the girl’s division, and Bryce Jackson of WA Contracted Fast Bowler for the boys. The camp is welcome to children aged 7 to 14 years old.

Each session begins from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM onwards at Tompkins Park, and tickets are priced at $165 AUD for the whole 3-day camp. Participants will also be provided a small snack and beverage at recess every day, as well as a complete pasta lunch on the last day. On 7th October Friday, the Melville Cricket Club welcomes parents to join for lunch. As part of the registration inclusions, parents will also get a free membership to Tompkins Sports Bar.

Children who participate in sports gain physical fitness, socialization, friendship, collaboration, fair play, and self-esteem. Sporting activities can teach kids how to manage their emotions and turn bad sentiments into good ones, and it also aids in the development of patience and the knowledge that both physical prowess and academic performance can be improved with a lot of practice. As such, it is crucial for parents to play an active and healthy role in encouraging their kids to participate in sports and helping them learn good sportsmanship. Most significantly, the lessons kids acquire via athletics will influence their values and behavior as adults.

So whatever sports your children wish to engage in, give them the right amount of support and let them discover their skills, abilities, and passions in a fun and safe environment. If you have children who are interested in learning how to play cricket, Melville Cricket Club’s Future Stormers Cricket Holiday Camp is the perfect event to introduce them to cricket and further spark their interests in pursuing the sport.
